Aging Faster with Yves Rocher Anti-Aging Products

Two years later, the saga with Yves Rocher is still ongoing!

Since the first blog back in February 2008, I moved out of Canada to get married and settle down in Lebanon. I followed up with the customer service department of Yves Rocher Canada.

Up until November I was still waiting for that response that I was supposed to receive “soon”; so I sent a reminder email... still nothing. Then on January 29, 2009, I got fed up from waiting for a response from Canada, so I contacted the Yves Rocher France. My email was sent back to Canada and a few days later I received another answer, from Canada:

Merci,

CB

My wedding day went well, but my make-up was kept to the minimum, only enough not to show how tired my face really was. Thanks to Photoshop, the photographer touched up my face for the photo album. And my make-up was removed as soon as the cocktail was over.

As a result of these two reactions, I now have more wrinkles around my eyes and the skin is darker than it ever was. I also have pouches of fat under one of the eyes, which didn’t exist before the YR products’ reaction. I consulted with a dermatologist here in Lebanon who told me that the only way to get rid of these wrinkles was by botox injections that costs a lot and lasts about a year. For the pouches of fat, they can be burnt, but they come back after 4 to 5 months; and the burning procedure also costs a lot of money. Besides the hassle and the money spending, neither Botox nor using acid to burn the fat was something that I would go for. So for me, I have aged faster than I was supposed to, because of products from Yves Rocher that were supposed to be safely used to reduce the aging process.

How using Yves Rocher’s product destroyed my face and possibly my wedding day!

Here’s my awful experience with Yves Rocher.
Please forward this link to everyone trusting and using Yves Rocher products as I was.

Before Using Yves Rocher Product

I have been a devoted client and customer of Yves Rocher for years. In early 2007, I tried the Pro-Retinol 100% Vegetal ENZYMES de JEUNESSE Self-Defence Eyes product for the puffiness and black circles under my eyes.

In April 2007, a representative of Yves Rocher advised me to try the Serum Vegetal Eyes & Lips. Once I tried the sample cream, my face started breaking out and the skin around my eyes became red, dry and itchy.

After using the Yves Rocher product - 30/04/2007

At first, I thought it was a food allergy, but with time, this redness became worse and my eyes became swollen. I went to my family physician -- he prescribed a cortisone-based cream to reduce the swelling and asked me to stop using facial products (creams, make-up, etc) until my face was back to normal.

A month after the first incident, my face was back to normal, so I resumed using my Yves Rocher products -- the swelling came back worse than the first time. At that point, my physician referred me to an Allergist who then referred me to a dermatologist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto. I stopped putting products on my face (including make-up).

After using the Yves Rocher product - 23/05/2007

In October 2007, the dermatologist asked me to have a patch test at Sunnybrook Hospital. The test consisted of patching my back with samples of all the products that I have been using on my face, including creams and make-up. The testing took 6 days. It included three visits to the hospital and 4 days if itchy back. The result: the break out on my face was caused by the Yves Rocher eye creams that I was using, Pro-Retinol 100% Vegetal ENZYMES de JEUNESSE Self-Defence Eyes and Serum Vegetal Eyes & Lips.

Since then, the only thing I can put on face is water – no more products, no more make-up!

Through this ordeal, I visited 2 different Yves Rocher stores in Toronto.

The first store representative took my name and phone number. She promised that someone from their Canadian head office would call me (this was in May 2007). I never received a phone call.

In the second store, the representative simply told me that I was not using the cream properly – she ended the conversation abruptly.

Because of the bad skin reaction and the swelling of my face, I have extra wrinkles under my eyes and the black circles have worsened. Also, I am now afraid to use any products.

I am getting married in May 2008 and unlike any bride, I will not be able to have a facial to cleanse and rejuvenate my face, and don’t know what to do about make-up! The last thing I need is another ogre face to ruin my special day.

I have contacted Yves Rocher head office in Toronto and told them my story. In January 2008, a representative from the head office contacted me and said that she had transferred my file to their insurance company. I am still waiting to hear back.

I would certainly appreciate some kind of acknowledgment and compensation for what I went through and what I have to go through now to fix my face (my eyes) from the mess that the swelling left behind. I would also like further investigation in the products that are being used in these facial creams to avoid more unhappy customers.
